Earlier this year I was asked to supply and install a bookcase for a customer who found me at the March Homeshow. I supplied this in a 33mm thick raw mdf finish so that the client could paint it the same as the wall colours they had used. They originally sent me a photo of something similar to what they wanted, so that I could design it around this. Being that its a 5mtr long bookcase it had to be fully constructed on site, which had its own difficulties due to being in a 2nd floor apartment. The 2 photos show the bookcase in its installed raw finish, and then once the client had finished painting it, stacked full of books.
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an update, so thought I’d best post something new. Yesterday we installed a trophy cabinet for Jimboomba Thunder Football Club. We used Flexpanel Latte Fineline as the melamine fronts and open shelves, all working with sliding door tracks and locks.
Mid 2012 a client that I had met at the Courier mail home show that I display at annually asked me to custom design their kitchen, laundry, office, dining room and living room furniture. We came up with using a flat panel with bevelled edge look to all the doors and drawers throughout the living room, kitchen and dining room, and we used Flexpanel Designer white sheen 1mm pvc edge doors to the laundry and office along with Laminex pure mineral stone diamond gloss postformed tops. On the furniture we went with low iron glass fit into a 2pac benchtop. The kitchen also had 40mm quantum quartz tops and glass splash backs. Hardware used was Blum white tandembox drawers, blum hinges with blumotion, LED strip lighting to the kitchen with LED downlights in the overheads and 228mm handles. The coffee table was a design I came up with after offering
I’ve been meaning to post this for a few weeks now. The two pac custom coffee table that Jacob and I were making for a client is now been supplied to them. The finishes were 2pac 100% gloss white, 50mm high aluminium adjustable feet and low iron clear glass insert. The customers are very happy with the final product and as you will see in the photos, it works well with the 2pac entertainment unit that I supplied at the same time.
A good customer of mine, asked me to come back and do some more work for them. They were requiring another bookcase in the same style as the previous bookcase that I had made for them, but they also wanted to incorporate their record player, amplifier and some speakers. So after meeting with them and discussing their requirements, I came up with a design that would do what they required. Being that it was including a record player, it needed to be thought out a little more. The record player and amplifier were designed to be hidden in behind the cabinet doors, but to be able to use the record player, it would need to come out. So I included a pull out shelf for the record player, and made the doors into pocket doors, so they would be be out of the way when it was in use. You
About 2 months back I was able to get hold of some professional shots by Scott Burrows from two projects Ive done for Shaun Lockyer Architects. One was for a house fitout in Toowong and the other was a from a house fitout in Mt Cootha These are the low resolution photos, the hi resolution photos look awesome and should work well in some print advertising material I’m having made for the next homeshow.
Earlier this year I installed a large kitchen in South Maclean, and then was asked just recently if I could add in a tv unit to match with the look of the kitchen. As usual, very happy to oblige my clients. So, we went with Flexpanel Cappucino Sheen to all the doors, a couple of glass doors in the centre of the TV unit so that the appliances can be seen and Barchie Nanango handles. Because we used Quantum Quartz Coco for the stone tops in the kitchen, and the clients wanted to use a laminate for the TV unit, I offered some colour suggestions for this and we came up with Formica Angora Velour which looks fairly similar. With the addition of led strip lighting to the underside of the overheads, the kitchen came up looking very smart.
This is a house I just recently completed in September. The fitout consisted of the kitchen, office, bookcase, laundry, powder room, linen cabinet, 4 bedroom built in robes, walk in robe, window seat to main bedroom, hallway cabinetry and guest bedroom. I wasn’t able to get photos of it all, but did get some, so thought its best to put them up. The products used were Laminex white, Laminex Fossil, Spotted gum veneer, Caesar stone tops and black marble feature panels. Everything had blumotion to the doors and stainless steel tandembox drawers throught the whole house.
Today I had a chance to go out and take a photo of this entertainment unit. Its a 4.4mtr long cabinet suspended off the floor with pocket doors to centre. The client doesn’t like to see their television so it sits inside the cabinet with the pocket doors. The finish was 2pac designer white satin to all surfaces and the use of tipon touch release door openers keeps the lines clean with no handles
I’ve gotten the library door all fitted in this morning. Spotted gum solid timber edges with Laminex polar white melamine shelves and backs
